Khotang, April 15: Relatives of Bimala Rai of Nirmalidanda-3, Khotang, who lost her life in the recent fatal bus accident taken place at Barkhetar in the district obstructed the Diktel-Chakhewabhanjyang road on Friday, demanding proper compensation and action against the violators of traffic rules.

They have sought immediate compensation and action against the transport entrepreneurs allowing drivers to ferry passengers out of bus capacity and those traffic police turning blind eyes to such bad practice.

The Nirmalidanda folks have expressed solidarity to the voices of the victim and placed logs and rocks at different sections of the road to block the traffic.

The Rai family said that they were not given gold jewels, cash and other belongings possessed by Rai during travel.

Because of the obstruction, passengers heading towards Chakhewa and coming to Diktel from there have been left stranded in the midway. Police are effortful to convince the irate locals to resume the vehicular movement.

The overloaded passenger bus had met with an accident at Barkhetar Tuesday morning, killing 24 on the spot and injuring 31 others. RSS
